Starting in August, 2017 with a free class on Aging Dogs

  • Each paid class is 12 hours – three Sundays at four hours each 1 pm to 5 pm
  • FREE Class on Aging Dogs (8/20) is three hours, from 1 to 4 pm, and does not count towards a discount  FULL!!  Taking names/email addresses for wait list
  • $275.00 for class
    • Discounts:  Lily’s Legacy volunteers  15%; Other shelter/rescue volunteers:  10%
    • Multiple sessions:  10% for 2; 15% for 3; 20% for 4
    • Each participant eligible for just one type of discount
    20 participant limit for each class

Foundation Classes - for people just entering the dog world and/or those who would like a more rounded canine education. 

Intermediate Classes - for people who have been involved with dogs in some areas, and would like to expand their horizon.

Advanced Classes - for those who would like to tackle major, often difficult issues

As dogs age, their behavior shifts - sometimes they are more relaxed; other times more irritable.  This class will focus predicting and caring for our older companions

Instincts, Emotions and Body Language

September 17th, 24th and October 1, 2017

This is a Foundation Course, aimed at people who would like to learn more about dogs and body language. 

Where do dogs come from?  Why do they do what they do?  In this  course, we will discuss the origin of the dog, their emotions, instincts and the way they communicate


Multi-Dog Families

This is an Intermediate Course.  Some experience is expected. 

Many people have more than one dog, and many others would like to add to their families.   In this Intermediate course, we will discuss how to choose a second or third dog, how to manage a larger canine family, and how to prevent civil war

Growth, Needs and Socialization

What is socialization, and when should we do what to help our dogs grow to their full potential?

This class will discuss what dogs need in the way of socialization, and what they don't need.

One of the most common behavior problems in our pets, dog to dog aggression comes in many forms, from leash frustration to actual rage. This class will cover what causes dog aggression, and what we  can do to help our pets get through it. 

Real LIfe Problem Solving

This is an Intermediate/Advanced course.  Some experience is expected. 

There's theory...and then there's life, and often the two don't jibe.  During this class, we ascertain not only what dogs need, but what owners and guardians are capable of a kind, empathetic and useful manner
